Drive: 225 km
We were on
the road by 9:15am in order to be at the Puma fuel station south of Maryborough
at 10am to meet up with Yvonne and Gunther (Fischers) and Geoff and Marg
(Bostons). We got to the servo with
plenty of time to spare and started filling-up with fuel. That was when Wendy discovered that she had
left her wallet behind!!! If we were
only going to be away for three days, it would have been OK, however, as we
were to be away for about three weeks, we decided we had no choice but to go
home to retrieve it. We were then also
able to turn on some security lights we forgot to activate before leaving the
first time!
The trip
back home put us about 50 min behind the rest, however by the time we caught up
with them in Kilkivan, we had made up 30 min!
After a short walk to stretch the legs it was back on the road. Bostons needed to refuel in Murgon, so we
decided to as well. It was not long
after Murgon that Bostons left us as they did not want to stop in
Kingaroy. They went onto Chinchilla and
we continued to Kingaroy. We made it to
Kingaroy about lunch time, and as check-in time was not until 2pm, we stopped
beside the park and made sandwiches for lunch.
We had pre-booked at the BIG4 park and it was only 1.8km away, and we
were able to check-in well before 2pm, which we did.
After
setting up the van, and getting the bikes of the rack, we rode away to check
out the peanut factory and silos, ultimately ending up at Woolies for
groceries. After returning from our
ride, Wendy prepared dinner (roasted veggies, salmon and chicken) and then it
was time for pre-dinner drinks. Dinner
took forever in the Weber BabyQ, but we eventually got there and it tasted
yummo! It was not long after washing-up that we were in bed.
